The Center for Research in Global Change and Sustainability welcomes enquiries from graduate and doctoral students, researchers as well as teachers from India and overseas for visits (short term to sabbatical), internships, volunteering, student projects and collaborative research opportunities. Members of CRGCS are happy to discuss with potential candidates the details of such visits.
1. BACHELOR AND MASTERS PROGRAM IN FISHERIES/AQUACULTURE
2. PHD IN ZOOLOGY
St. Albert’s College, Mahatma Gandhi University, where CRGCS is based, conducts three year undergraduate degree (B. Sc) programs in Aquaculture as well as Industrial Fish and Fisheries AND a two year Master’s program (M. Sc) in Applied Fisheries & Aquaculture. Students from these programs have the option of working with researchers at CRGCS for carrying out their undergraduate and graduate dissertations.

3. VISITING RESEARCH, INTERNSHIP, VOLUNTEERING
The CRGCS welcomes students pursuing Master’s degree programs in Zoology, Environmental Biology, Fisheries, Aquaculture, Aquatic Biology and related degrees within and outside India to carry out their dissertation with a member of the group. Interested students may contact individual staff members at least three months in advance. Enquiries for internships (minimum of 1 month and a maximum of 6 months) are also welcome from graduate and post graduate students of any branch of Life Science, as well as economics and sociology. 4. ADJUNCT FELLOWS
CRGCS welcomes enquiries from dynamic and highly motivated researchers to associate with the center in the capacity of an Adjunct Fellow. Applicants should have studied for a Master’s Degree or beyond in any area of Environmental Sciences/ Sociology/Economics/Law and interested in undertaking interdisciplinary research in conservation and sustainable development. The center is particularly interested in candidates with interest in environmental law, large mammal ecology, marine biology and ecological economics.
5. JOB VACANCIES
Applications are invited for the post of a Project Associate
at the Center for Research in Global Change and
Sustainability (CRGCS) to work on projects related to
natural resources conservation. Prospective candidates
should possess Master’s Degree (or higher degrees) in any
branch of Life Science and willing to work outdoors.
Preferences will be given to candidates with knowledge in
remote sensing and GIS. An updated CV which includes name
and address (including email) of two referees should be
submitted to Shijo Joseph, Group Leader, Remote Sensing and
GIS Division at shijonrsa@gmail.com on or before 20th January 2010.
Application will be reviewed on 22nd January and the
decision of the reviewing committee will be communicated
within the next couple of days. Remuneration varies from Rs.
6000 – 12000 depends on the qualification and experience.
